Nikki has special interests and passion for supporting the parents of children that are growing slower than expected.

Faltering growth is the term used to describe babies and young children who show a fall in weight or poor weight gain, a paediatric dietitian role is to give the mother the skills, knowledge and practices to put in place to support their child to best health, whether that be providing nutrients via exclusively breastfeeding, mixed feeding, formula or family foods.

By working with specialist paediatricians, or your local GP, the root cause of slowed growth so that safe and effective practises can be discussed with the family to best support the child.

Nikki understands that adequate nutrition and appropriate nurturing is needed for a child to thrive, therefore a high level of support and care is provided to the families to give them the skills and knowledge to best assist their child.

Management of faltering or slow growth usually includes collaboration with your GP or paediatrician to provide the best management to optimise your child's health and development.
