Allergies and food intolerances can present in infants or children as eczema, diarrhoea, mucous or blood in stools, irritability, vomiting and colic, which can be very distressing for children and their families.
Dietitians role is to remove trigger foods and provide the families with alternate foods or supplements to ensure nutritional adequacy, as the child becomes at increased risk of malnutrition when a component of their diet is removed. Once the trigger is removed and symptoms subside the focus moves to building a healthy immune and digestive system, combined with food protocols to potentially reverse the allergic response and safely reintroduce the food back into the child's diet without the symptoms returning.
Support is offered whether the child is breastfed, formula feed or consuming family foods.
Management of children with allergies includes collaboration with your GP, paediatrician or allergist to provide the safest management to improve your child's symptoms and health.

COST OF SERVICES:
Initial consultation: $100 - $140 (1 hour - 1.5 hours)
Review consultation: $75- $100 (30 minutes to 1 hour)
If required, there may be additional fees for further testing & nutritional supplementation.
No referral required but may offset some of the associated fees.
